Infested with crime, gangs and drugs, Los Pinos is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the entire coutnry of Honduras. Most families live under the basic human standard of living lacking access to clean water, food on a daily manner, electricity and shelter. Many seek any type of work only to survive for the current day rarely thinking and/or planning for tomorrow. Throughout the dirt streets - linking these families together - are scores of kids, teens and adults hanging out sniffing paint thinner, drinking alcohol, playing cards for money and/or doing absolutely nothing. This is the reality of a community with little or no HOPE!
Alot of the kids and young adults are hooked on paint thinner from an early age. We HOPE to replace despair and addictions with HOPE in Christ. HOPE can build confidence, self-esteem and self worth. We believe that the combination of FAITH and JOINING TOGETHER AS ONE will demonstrate to the world.....Todo es posible con Dios (Everything is possible with God)!
As long as God continues to provide we will FIGHT for this community and its families.
