Sumaya Solis, Director of Operations, has worked for several years in the airline and travel industry. The Lord has prepared her for such a time as this – facilitating groups at The Garden of Eden with travel plans and mission opportunities and investing in youth and women who have been forgotten. “I believe everyone should have the opportunity to become who they want to become. To become who they are meant to be,” says Sumaya.
Tony Deien, President of An Opportunity in Honduras, grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. After 15 years of running a summer camp program, voted three consecutive years as the best program in Utah, Tony still felt like his life was incomplete. He gave up all the status symbols of his success and moved to Honduras to pursue a deeper relationship with God. For four years, Tony served, and did nothing but projects, until God revealed that what was most important were the relationships. Tony wants those who no one else wants. He works in Los Pinos, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Honduras. “I love taking people who have given up, who have said ‘NEVER, I can’t’ and instilling hope into people who don’t have it.”
