El Horno - A Rural Community

About 30 minutes outside of Tegucigalpa, El Horno is nestled in the mountains of Honduras. A small, rural community of 350 people, El Horno has much potential but the people are blinded to the possibilities of something better, being born into poverty and not exposed to examples of a different way of life.

Come:
  • Assist with English classes in the local school.
  • Dig water wells.
  • Health/hygiene demonstrations.
  • Develop a sustainable agricultural livelihood (the farm, Garden of Eden, is open for community gardens).
  • Host community events at the farm, the Garden of Eden.

Pray:
  • That we will build strong relationships with those in the community.
  • For groups to come serve the community.
  • For motivation and the light of Christ to shine brightly in El Horno.

Give:
  • Send your knowledge! Give us tips and advice for agriculture.
  • See the “One Family at a Time” tab to meet three families from El Horno who need help. Consider financially supporting them.
  • Support various community projects such as building a home and paving a road.
